What is the Daikin U4 Error Code?
The U4 error code on a Daikin inverter AC indicates a communication fault between the indoor unit (IDU) and the outdoor unit (ODU).
Because Inverter ACs rely on constant digital communication to adjust compressor speed, a break in this signal causes the entire system to shut down for safety.
Common Causes:
- Broken or loose communication wire (usually the 3rd or 4th wire connecting the units).
- Burnt Communication IC on either the indoor or outdoor PCB (usually caused by voltage spikes).
- Power supply issues to the outdoor unit.
- Mismatched units (e.g., pairing a 1.5-ton indoor unit with a 2-ton outdoor unit).
